A Fire Restriction is now in place in the Summer Village of Island Lake.

Favorable conditions, including widespread precipitation, have reduced the risk to an acceptable level to lift the complete ban. A Fire Restriction will remain in place.

This restriction PROHIBITS the discharge of fireworks and SUSPENDS all fire permits issued for burn barrels. No new permits will be issued until fire conditions improve. Small cooking and warming fires are allowed in approved fire rings only.

Everyone is urged to use extreme caution when working or driving in grassy areas, be mindful of debris collecting on hot exhaust which could result in the ignition of a fire.
